(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Kevin Don Black, age 53 of Joplin, Missouri, was born on June 2, 1971 at Freeman Hospital. Sadly, Kevin left this Earth on October 22, 2024 in Joplin.
He is survived by his parents Chris Black and Steven Black. Along with his two brothers; Jeffrey Black and Jason Black and his wife Elizabeth Black. Also his sister/niece; Chevelle Black and her five children. He had many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Kevin lived in Carl Junction, Missouri and went to Carl Junction High School, graduating in 1989. His love for family was pure and never ending. He had a heart of gold. Kevin loved to work and help others. His loyalty for his friends was never ending. He would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. He was our “Gentle Giant”. He loved any child he encountered.
He was always fascinated by classic cars. Kevin loved to fish, camp and family time. He always enjoyed working with his hands.
Kevin was preceded in death by his Grandparents; Elma Hammond, Sanford Hammond, Don McCoy, M. Margaret Black, Lee Black and many aunts and uncles.
He is loved and will be deeply missed by us all.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation immediately following the service on Tuesday.
