(From Lakin Funeral Home)Loraine Elizabeth Staponski, age 93, of Monett, MO passed away, with family by her side, on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Lacoba Homes in Monett, MO. She was born in Monett, MO on Thursday, December 4, 1930; daughter of Andy and Elsie (Friday) Staponski.
Loraine was a 1949 graduate of Pierce City High School. She always had a great sense of humor and would find the funny side of things. She brought joy to those who knew her. Loraine loved to garden and enjoyed cooking for her family. She could cook Polish dishes as well, pierogies and kolaczkies were some of her favorite things to make.
She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she was involved in the PCCW serving in many areas of need. Loraine always looked forward to time spent with her family and friends. She will be missed by many!
Surviving are the following: three nephews, Randy (Denise) Staponski of Wentworth, MO, Bud (Brenda) Staponski of Warsaw, MO, and Joe Staponski of Excelsior Springs, MO; two nieces, JoNelle (Larry) Moennig of Wentworth, MO, and Ann Elgin (Brian) of Kansas City, MO; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
Loraine was preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Elsie Staponski; a niece, Mary Beth Staponski; a niece-in-law, Vollie Staponski; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Earle (Rose Anne) Staponski and Ben (Burhl) Staponski.

The family will receive friends at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pulaskifield, MO on Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Rosary will begin at 11:00 AM. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be after the Rosary at 11:30 AM with Father Paul Pudhota officiating. Burial will follow at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Pulaskifield, MO. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
Memorials may be made to SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church or SS Peter and Paul building fund in care of the funeral home.
