David Clemens

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

David Elroy Clemens, age 82, departed this life on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at his residence. He entered this life on June 11, 1942, in Chisholm, Minnesota, son of the late Elroy and Florence (Bodnes) Clemens.

Raised in Littleton, Colorado, David was a graduate of Littleton High School, class of 1960. His thirst for knowledge and dedication to furthering his education led him to the University of Denver, California State Polytechnic College and eventfully Arapahoe Community College. In May of 1962, David's sense of duty called him to serve his country, and he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served faithfully and with honor.

Upon receiving his honorable discharge, David returned to Denver for a brief period before embarking on a career that would define much of his professional life. He moved to Riverton, Wyoming, where he worked as a chemist at the Uranium plant. His expertise and dedication to his craft were evident, and he eventually returned to Colorado to continue his career at John Manville Service Corp in Littleton, also as a chemist. David's work was not just a job; it was a passion that he pursued with excellence until his retirement.

In 2004, David chose to retire to the peaceful town of Goodman, Missouri, where he quickly became a beloved member of the community. He never met a stranger and could often be found enjoying the company of friends and neighbors. David had a knack for making everyone feel welcome and valued, and his presence was a source of joy and comfort to many.

David's interests were as warm and inviting as his personality. He was an avid fan of the television show NCIS, which he watched with the same dedication he applied to every aspect of his life. His love for "Baby Cakes" at Denny's in Neosho was well-known, and he could often be found savoring this sweet treat while engaging in lively conversation with fellow diners.

He is survived by his three children, Valerie Dumond of Goodman, Missouri, Lisa Ruggeri of B oise, Idaho and Eric Clemens and wife, Heidi, also of Boise; sixteen grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

We celebrate a life well-lived, a life that touched so many others in profound and lasting ways. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the countless lives he enriched simply by being himself.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
