(From Parker Mortuary)Steven D. Tandy, Sr., age 66 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin following an extended illness. Steven Sr. was born December 3, 1957 in Webb City at Jane Chin Hospital to the late Ben and Lucille (Spicer) Tandy.
Steven owned and operated a private security company called American Eagle Security for several years. He was an avid motorcycle rider who loved grabbing a Sonic milkshake and heading off to go camping & fishing every opportunity he had. In his down time, you would hear about his random Google searches of useless information. Steven was a past member of Frisco Church of Webb City before his health caused him to longer be able to attend.
Surviving Steven Sr. include Ex wife Beverly & his children, Kyle Dines & wife Teresa of Sherwood, Arkansas, Steven D. Tandy Jr. & wife Starla of Neosho, Timothy Tandy & ex wife Elizzabeth of St. Joseph & daughter Jesseca Higginbotham & husband Jesse of Alba; 14 grandchildren, Mikel, Haley, Destiny, Asher, Abbigail, Jethro, Scarlett, Christopher, Quarbyn, Aviana, Oliver, Octavia, Bradyn and Kayla; 2 great-grandchildren, Cherish-Rosemary and Phoenix. His brothers, Danny Tandy, Sr. & wife Rosie of Oronogo, Donnie Tandy & wife Laurie of Prosperity; his numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Other than his parents, Steven Sr. is preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Spicer and a sister, Virginia Turpin.
Family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
