Sharon Barnett

Sharon K. (Hughes) Barnett of Pittsburg, KS passed away at the age of 81 on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 1:35 pm at Mercy Hospital Pittsburg KS, surrounded by her family. Sharon was born on January 8, 1943 in Duenweg, MO, to Jack Louie and Mae (Evans) Hughes.

She was one of six children. She was married to Harry Barnett in 1960 and they were later divorced. She was an ordained minister for most of her life, and Sharon was the officiant of many weddings in her family. She was also a business owner.








She loved animals including her beloved dog (Pig), she loved music and singing gospel, and playing her guitar. She loved her family and the times she spent with them, cherishing every moment. Sharon loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a strong, loving, and independent woman.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Ronnie (Linda) Hughes, Nancy (Elvis) Jones, David Hughes, Jackie Newman, Donnie (Nadine) Hughes, a granddaughter Lisa Allmon, and a great granddaughter Raegan Cochran. She is survived by her daughters Penelope JonesEl (Pittsburg, KS), Tammie (Larry) Lever (Neodesha, KS), Cindy (Robert) McNamara (Pittsburg, KS), and Sister In-Law Teresa (Hughes) Nesbitt, 16 grandchildren Brenda Carroll, Tabitha (Nicole) Shields, Teddy Ray Allmon, Timothy (Mandy) Cochran, Crissie (Chad) Babcock, Heather (Joey) Lamendola, James Cochran, Scott (Cheryl) Cochran, Johnathon (Stephanie) Cochran, Jr (Michelle) Lever, PJ (Mike) Price, Kenneth (Jessica) Lever, Stephania Guadarrama, Sharon (Dominick) Gomes, Ashley Cochran (Shawn Long), Cody Crowe, and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 1 PM at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg. A memorial service will follow at 2 PM at the same location. Arrangements are under the direction by Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS 66762.
