Charles Lewis

(From Simpson Funeral Home)

Charles Dean Lewis Jr., a man whose wit and humor brightened the lives of those around him, passed away at his Carl Junction home on October 20, 2024. Born in Blythe, CA on August 27, 1969, Charles lived a life full of love, laughter, and countless adventures. He left behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and bring smiles to those who knew him.

Charles was more than just a carpenter and a cowboy, he built not just structures but also strong relationships with those around him. His infectious humor and outspoken nature made him a favorite among his friends and colleagues.

Charles was a man who lived life on his own terms. He was an avid fisherman who loved to bask in the serenity of Grand Lake with his friends at the "Ice Box Bluff". He had the rare ability to turn a mundane day into a memorable one with his fun-loving nature and witty jokes. He was previously a member of the Baptist Church in Pineville and lived his faith sincerely. As Proverbs 17:22 says, "A cheerful heart is good medicine," Charles's cheerful heart indeed was a healing balm for many.

Charles was a devoted family man who deeply loved his wife, Donna Lewis, whom he married on October 21, 1987. He found immense joy in his grandkids and cherished his friends like family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna; his sons, Robert (Priscila) Rhoades and Dustin (Kassie) Rhoades; his mother, Margaret Lewis; his brothers, Michael (Katrina) Lewis and Mark Lewis; his grandchildren, Michael, Haygen, Lillyan, Desirae, and Tobias Rhoades. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Lewis, Sr.

Charles's life will be celebrated with a graveside committal service on Friday, 25 Oct 2024 at 10:00am at the Carl Junction Cemetery pavilion with James Story officiating.

Services are under the personal care and direction of Simpson Funeral Home of Carl Junction. We invite all who knew Charles to share your favorite memories, photos, and stories of him on his memorial page. We believe that every memory shared will help keep Charles's spirit alive and bring comfort to those who loved him.
