(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Gregory Allen Winterhalter, age 65, of Neosho, Missouri passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025.
Greg was raised by his mother, Betty Lee (Lafferty) Winterhalter and loving grandparents, Ernest and Lucy Lafferty. He was born to Hans Peter and Betty Lee (Lafferty) Winterhalter on September 23, 1959 in Springfield, Missouri. He married Edwina Hale on September 13, 1980; she preceded him in death. To that union were born three children, Gregory, Gina, and Gracie. He worked for the railroad for over 40 years. Greg married Susannah Watkins, spending time celebrating the joys of life and retirement.
Preceding him in death include his grandparents Ernest and Lucy Lafferty; parent Hans Peter Winterhalter; and wife Edwina (Hale) Winterhalter.
He is survived by his wife Susannah Winterhalter of Neosho, MO; children: Gregory Winterhalter (McKenzie) of Carl Junction, MO, Gina Chinn (Bryan) of Jefferson City, MO, and Gracie Helms (Jarrod) of Columbus, KS; mother Betty Winterhalter; sister Rhonda Hopstein (Bill) of Meridian, MS; grandchildren Connor Chinn, Greyson Chinn, Elie Helms, Afton Burns, and Oaklyn Burns: and son Rob DeWater of Hollister, MO.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus, Kansas. Private burial of cremains will take place at Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the animal shelter of your choice.
