Remikio Augustine

Remikio Augustine, a beloved father, husband, musician, and community leader, passed away on March 25, 2025, at the age of 80 in Neosho, Missouri. Born on January 8, 1945, in Phonpei, Micronesia, Remikio was the son of Pridis and Rosa (Delesantos) Augustine. He was the last of the living members and head of his clan, a man who cherished his heritage and had a profound impact on all those who knew him.

In 1968, Remikio married Elwise, and together they were blessed with eleven children. Their bond lasted for 30 years until her passing in 1998. In 2000, he married Aldina Patahk, and they shared 25 years of marriage before Remikio’s passing.








A man of many talents, Remikio found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing and living the island life. He was also deeply passionate about his cultural heritage, serving as an active member of the NETT Cultural Center, where he performed traditional island dances. Through the Cultural Center, Remikio had the opportunity to travel to places like Japan, Sipan, Guam, and Australia, sharing his culture with others. He was also a talented musician, known for his guitar and keyboard playing, and his voice which resonated in the heartfelt songs of traditional island music.

Remikio was a man who valued his relationships, whether with family, friends, or his community. He was well-respected, admired for his character, and loved by many. He was a lifelong member of Kolonia Catholic Church, finding comfort and strength in his faith throughout his life.

Remikio is survived by his children, Perdolihno, Serlino, Ersila, Meriu, Elsainer, and Lethicia, along with his grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and five of his children: Etrina, Beneditus, Francisco, Elise, and Rosanna.








A funeral service to honor Remikio’s life will be held on April 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Neosho, Missouri. He will be laid to rest at Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery.

Remikio Augustine leaves behind a legacy of love, music, culture, and unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
