Paul Starchman

Paul C. Starchman, age 76 of Joplin, MO passed away Saturday night, April 5th, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Joplin Missouri.

Paul was born December 20, 1948 to John and Charlotte Starchman and graduated from Joplin High School.

Survivors include brother David Starchman of Joplin; sister-in-law Judy Starchman of Cassville; nephew Brian Starchman and wife Jennifer of Joplin and their children Andrew Coleman of the United States Army, Abby Stewart and husband Mark and their child Carly of Webb City; nephew John Ryan Starchman and wife Jennifer and their child Lliana of Carl Junction; niece Janelle Hurn and husband Ryan of Springfield and their children Alannah Rose and Alyssa Jo; great-nephew Ryan Starchman and great-niece Megan McQueen; cousin Barbary Fohey who gave Paul great care in his final years; cousin’s Ruth and Neil Gilstrap; Ellen and Chuck Phillips; Sandra and Randy Smith.








Paul was preceded in death by his father, John V. Starchman; mother, Charlotte L. Starchman; brother, John L. Starchman; nephew, Joseph Ross Starchman; sister-in-law, Ruth L. Starchman.

Paul loved his family first above all. Paul also loved his country. Paul was wounded in the Vietnam war and served many years as the Commander of the Southwest Missouri Military Order of Purple Heart. Paul took great pride and satisfaction in helping wounded veterans to receive the benefits they deserved and did so for many wounded veterans.

Paul also loved music and was very proud of his band, Peace and Quiet.







In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a veteran’s organization of your choice in memory of Paul.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 10th, from 6:00-7:00pm at Mason-Woodard Mortuary with a graveside service Friday, April 11th at 2:00pm and Ozark Memorial Park cemetery with full military honors.
