(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Dollie J. Rooks, 71, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 28, 2026, at Communities of Wildwood in Joplin.
Dollie was born January 6, 1955, in Paris, France, to Roy and Christiane Rooks. She spent most of her life in Joplin and was proud of her French heritage, which was reflected in both her spirit and her style.
For many years, Dollie worked alongside her mother at Frenchie’s Wedding Boutique in downtown Joplin. She cherished the opportunity to help brides prepare for one of the most meaningful days of their lives and formed lasting friendships with many in the community through her work.
Dollie was a joyful, bright light wherever she went. She especially loved making the staff at Communities of Wildwood smile and laugh, and her playful spirit and warm heart brought happiness to those who cared for her. She had a way of lifting the mood of a room simply by being in it.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Christiane Rooks, and her grandmother Jeanne Lapanne.
Dollie is survived by her brother, Kal Rooks and wife Jamie, her niece Victoria Stout and husband Garrison, and great niece Winter Stout.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, at Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery.
Dollie will be remembered for her grace, her laughter, and the light she brought into the lives of others.
