(From Knell Mortuary)Sharon Cathleen Cross, 62, Carl Junction, Missouri, a beacon of love and courage, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri. She was born on March 30, 1963, in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of the late Roger Duane Cross and Catherine Ann (Craig) Cross.
A proud 1981 graduate of Carthage High School, Sharon carried the spirit of her hometown with her throughout her life. She furthered her education at Missouri Southern State University for two years, where she cultivated her passion for helping others. This passion led her to a fulfilling career as a classroom aide at the Cerebral Palsy Center in Webb City, Missouri, where her presence was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her brother, Jeffrey Cross, and his wife Sonia; her cherished nephews, Seth Cross and his wife Anna, and Adam Cross and his wife Victoria; and her adored great-nephews and niece, Justin, Abigael, Bennett, and Lincoln Cross, all of Kimberling City, Missouri. Her warmth and generosity also extended to her many extended family members and a multitude of friends, all of whom will miss her deeply.
Those who knew Sharon would describe her as the epitome of loving and friendly, with a courageous heart that shone brightly even in the face of challenges. Her ability to connect with others, her infectious smile, and her unwavering support left an indelible mark on her community. Sharon's interests were varied, but they all shared a common thread: her love of helping others and her dedication to her family. Whether she was assisting in the classroom or spending time with her loved ones, she did so with a full heart and an open hand.
