(From Greenfield Funeral Chapel)Kent David Darmsteadter, 66, of Dadeville Mo, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family at home.
Kent was born on April 30, 1960, in St. Louis to Ron and Kay (Kirchoff) Darmsteadter. As a young man, he spent summers on a houseboat along the Mississippi River and worked as a park recreation counselor, where his adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors began to grow.
At the age of 30, Kent accepted Christ as his Savior — a life-changing decision that became the foundation of the man he was for the next 36 years. He faithfully worshiped and served at Dadeville First Baptist Church for 31 years, where his quiet strength, servant’s heart, and steadfast faith touched many lives.
On August 6, 1982, Kent married the love of his life, Theresa Ross. Together they built a Christ-centered home filled with laughter, unwavering love, faith, and treasured memories that will live on for generations.
Kent was a hardworking man who spent his life providing for his family through many occupations, including metal fabrication, welding, and truck driving before retiring from Pennington Seed. No matter the job, he approached his work with dedication.
Kent found joy in God’s creation and loved farming, traveling, scuba diving, boating, and water skiing with his family. Whether he was on the water, working the land, or simply gathered with those he loved most, Kent made every moment meaningful. His grandchildren brought him endless pride and happiness, and being “Poppy” was one of the greatest joys of his life.
Kent is survived by his devoted wife, Theresa Darmsteadter; his son, David Darmsteadter and wife Deana, and their sons, Maddox and Cade; his daughter, Chelsea Toler and husband Brandon, and their daughters, Olivia and Alliana; his mother-in-law, Alice “Allie” Shepard; his brother-in-law Greg Ross; nephews, Gregory and Mason Ross; niece, Hailea Ross; his brother, Mark Darmsteadter and wife Susan; cousin, Craig George and wife Laraine; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and dear friends.

Kent will be remembered as a faithful Christian man, a loving husband, father, and Poppy, and a loyal friend whose life reflected kindness, strength, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Though his family grieves deeply, they rejoice in knowing he is healed, whole, and at peace in the presence of Jesus.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a scholarship to help the nurses who cared for Kent further their education, honoring the compassion and kindness they showed throughout his journey. Please make checks payable to his wife, Theresa Darmsteadter, and her Venmo account is Theresa-Darmsteadter as another option.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the Dadeville First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Ross-Darmsteadter Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until service time at the Dadeville First Baptist Church. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
