Glenn Thomas Powell, age 53, Joplin, passed away at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at his residence.
Glenn was born May 11, 1965 in Richmond, Virginia to Johnny Lee Powell and the late Barbara Lynette Paxson Powell and had lived in the Joplin area most of his life.
Glenn worked for Gunlock Heating and Air for over ten years. He had also worked for Wal-Mart in the meat department for a couple of years and at Casey's General Store in Joplin for a short period of time.
He was known as a kind, patient person. Glenn enjoyed spending time with his family and will be missed by all who knew him.
Glenn married Michelle Michael on June 9, 1988 in Mesa, Arizona. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Powell, Joplin; his father, Johnny Lee Powell, California; two brothers, Danny Powell and Brian Powell, both of California; his mother-in-law, Sharon Sager, Joplin; and grandchildren, Zackary Roderique Powell, Adeliah Powell-Parrish and Levi Whited.
In addition to his mother Barbara Lynette Paxson Powell, Glenn was preceded in death by two sons, Dustin Powell and Weston Powell; and a sister, Debbie Powell.
Services are planned for Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Jay St. Clair, minister, will officiate. The family will receive friends following the services at the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
