Evelyn Vaughan

Evelyn Vaughan, age 73, Joplin, passed away at 6:06 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2019 at her residence.

Evelyn was born June 19, 1945 in Decatur, Arkansas to the late Oscar Burrow and Opal Tibbs Burrow and had lived in Joplin most of her life.

When her daughters were young, Evelyn was able to stay home and care for them, a job that she cherished. She later went to work in the manufacturing industry and retired from Modine. Evelyn enjoyed fishing, camping, carnations, puzzles and games, but most of all spending time with her family and holding her grandbabies. She was the heart of her family and loved each one of them with everything she had. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Evelyn married Homer Dee Vaughan on March 15, 1964 in Gravette, Arkansas. He survives at the home.








Additional survivors include her daughters, Trish Vaughan (Reed), Neosho, Missouri, Cynthea Vaughan (Cole), Springfield, Missouri and Toni Vaughan (Evans), Joplin, Missouri; siblings, Carolyn Piercefield and husband Charles, Quapaw, Oklahoma and Kenny Burrow and wife Marcia, Chouteau, Oklahoma; grandchildren, William Vaughan, Cathren Johnson, Michael Keeney, Zachary Keeney, Amanda Keeney, Trey Houdyshell, Chelsea Houdyshell, Haley Evans, Kody Evans, Tyler Evans and David Evans; and twenty five great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Makiah Carr; siblings, Delores Willis, Corky Burrow, Lloyd Burrow, Vernon Burrow and Clara Landon.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 30th, 2019 at Parker Mortuary from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Per Evelyn’s wishes please wear bright cheerful colors to celebrate the wonderful life she lived.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
