Bill and Janet met March 20th, 1998 and after a year long relationship were married March 18, 1999. Janet was always the perfect navigator on trips and although they sometimes didn’t end up where they were going they enjoyed their time traveling. She and Bill traveled together to all 48 continental states, Jamaica, Mexico, Canada, and enjoyed several cruises. She enjoyed the motorcycle trips with friends and weekend rides with Bill. She was an avid bowler and participated in numerous State and National Competition and enjoyed bowling with her friends and family. A true diehard Kansas City Chiefs football fan, as a season ticket holder she enjoyed going to Arrowhead for tailgating and games. It usually took a couple of days to get her voice back after the games, she loved being a very loud and fun fan especially at a game in Tampa Bay while surrounded by Bucs fans. Her house was always decorated in Chiefs red and gold during football season.
As a devoted mom and wife she enjoyed preparing family meals, but only knew how to cook for an army! Her love for life included having a house full of kids and animals, including making sure all of the neighborhood strays had food to eat. As a mother to four girls there was never a dull moment, sports, cheer, band, she made time for it all and helped with fundraising, doing hair, making sure appropriate clothes were clean, feeding everyone before practices/games/concerts, and always packing the best snacks for road trips. She was always willing to volunteer to travel with the girls on school trips, and enjoyed going to the high school sporting events to watch the girls cheer and to help cheer on the Diamond Wildcats. One of her greatest pleasures was spending time in the sun whether it was being at the beach, out by her pool, or going out on the boat at the lake. She loved having pool parties and having everyone over for family cookouts.
Memorial service will be Friday, May 17, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Philip Episcopal Church with Father Frank Sierra officiating.
Her ashes will be laid to rest with her daughter Leiton at a later date in Mount Hope Cemetery, Webb City.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Faithful Friends in Neosho, Missouri.
