John Howard Lowry, age 60, of Wheaton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
He was born April 17, 1959 in Phoenix, Arizona, the son of Clyde Austin “CA” Lowry and Velma Louise “Bibs” (Lester) Lowry.
His first marriage was to Victoria Lowry and to this union one child, Alexander was born. On May 23, 1993 he was united in marriage to Mary Fontana and to this union two children, Sean and Anastasia were born.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lowry of Wheaton, Missouri; his mother, Bibs Lowry; his children, Alexander Lowry of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Anastasia Lowry of Wheaton, Missouri and Sean Lowry also of Wheaton, Missouri; two sisters, Lois Williams and her husband Bobbie of Wheaton, Missouri and Jo Carrol White of Wheaton, Missouri and two grandchildren, Jack Lowry and Hadley Lowry of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Preceding him in death was his father.
John grew up in Phoenix, Arizona before moving to Missouri in 1971 where he attended Rocky Comfort school and graduated from McDonald County High School. For many years he was a journeyman welder, working on various pipeline jobs. He worked maintenance at George’s Poultry and recently Tyson’s in Monett. He was thankful for Celebrate Recovery and this became a large part of his ministry.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2019 at Wheaton Community Building on Allman Avenue. Anyone is invited to come and share.
Cremation arrangements are under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.
