Evelyn Maxine Nelson, age 93, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at her home. Evelyn Maxine Bowers was born July 9, 1926 in Cassville, Missouri to the late Lee Bowers and Esther (Ennis) Bowers.
Evelyn married Roland Olson Nelson on February 2, 1945 in Bentonville, Arkansas; he preceded her in death on July 14, 2009. She was a homemaker and a member of the Grace Pointe Assembly of God in Carthage.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Pickering (husband John), Carthage, and Judy Fullerton, Carthage; two sons, Dean Nelson (wife Lassie), Ozark, Missouri, and Gene Nelson (wife Paula), Honey Brook, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Carroll Bowers, Stotts City, Missouri, and Ferrell Bowers (wife Kay), Carthage; one sister, Doris Henbest, Butterfield, Missouri; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Jerrell Bowers.
Graveside funeral services will be held 3 pm, Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Mineral Springs Cemetery, Cassville, Missouri. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
