Virginia Lee Grunst, age 86, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Missouri. Virginia Lee Greninger was born January 31, 1933 in Carthage, Missouri to the late Richard Greninger and Chloe (Southern) Greninger.
She was a 1950 graduate of Jasper High School, Jasper, Missouri. She married Jim Grunst, Sr., on June 20, 1959.
Virginia worked as a housekeeper for Fair Acres in Carthage for 16 years and Precious Moments for six years. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church, Carthage.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbi Lewton, Northport, Florida, and Pam Hartley of Arkansas; two sons, Jim Grunst, Jr., Webb City, Missouri, and Thomas Grunst, Brooklyn Heights, Missouri; one granddaughter, Jennifer Siebert, Bella Vista, Arkansas; and three great-grandchildren, Leah, Blake and Brett Siebert, all of Bella Vista, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Clara Grunst.
Visitation will be held 6-7 pm, Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Knell Mortuary Chapel, Carthage. Graveside funeral services will be held 10 am, Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Curtis Cemetery, Carthage.
