Ofelia Damasco De Marquez, 74, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri went to be with her Lord in heaven on Friday May 24, 2019 while at her home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. She was born in Santa Maria, Mexico on June 13, 1944; the daughter of the late Loranzo Damasco and Maria Ivarra.
She was united in marriage on May 26, 1962 to Manuel Marquez; he preceded her in death on February 1, 2013.
She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother as well as being a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett, Missouri.
Ofelia is survived by four sons: Antonio Marquez of Monett, Octabio Marquez of Uvalde, Texas, Manuel Marquez of Carthage, and Rene Marquez of Aurora, Illinois; six daughters: Ararcely Marquez of Mexico, Maria Eugenia of Mt. Vernon, Rosalina Marquez of Wentworth, Gloria Marquez of Aurora, Illinois, Olga Aicia Maquez of Elgin, Illinois, and Alma Craciela of Mexico; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rosary for Ofelia is being held on Thursday May 30, 2019 at 6:00p.m. at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett, Missouri with visitation to follow Rosary. Funeral Mass is being held on Friday May 31, 2019 at 10:00a.m. at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett, Missouri with Father Rahab Isidor officiating. Ofelia will be laid to rest next to her husband following Mass at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Monett, Missouri.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri.
