Kenneth Darvin Bentlage, age 92, of Golden City, MO passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at his home.
Kenneth was born September 05, 1926 in Bland, MO to Chris H. and Anna Marie (Giedinghagen) Bentlage. Kenneth graduated from Golden City High School in the class of 1945 and served his country in the United States Army. On June 26, 1949, Kenneth married Lala Mae Kinser at the Lamar United Methodist Church.
Kenneth was a cattle and crop farmer, a member of the Golden City United Methodist Church, where he was the President of the Board of Trustees. He was also on the county board of the ASCS (Agricultural Soil Conservation Service), as well as the Rural Water District #1. Kenneth enjoyed tractor pulling as well as playing the guitar and fiddle.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Darvin and Tish Bentlage, Golden City, MO; a daughter, Debra Bentlage, Golden City, MO; three grandchildren, Larry (Ericka) Helmer, Julia (Richard) Berg and Crystal Bentlage; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding Kenneth in death were his wife Lala Bentlage, one brother, Alvin Bentlage and one sister, Melba Springgate, and best friend, Dean Stratton.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m, Friday, May 24, 2019, at Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, MO with burial to follow in Mt.Carmel Cemetery, Golden City, MO.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
