Garold Floyd Chandler, 88, of LaRussell, Missouri departed this life on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, surrounded by his loving family.
Garold entered this life on March 30, 1931, in rural Jasper County to the union of the late Homer and N. Marie (Culley) Chandler. He was a graduate of Sarcoxie High School. Garold proudly served in the United States Marines during the Korean War.
On March 11, 1960 he was united in marriage to Donna Vacca. Together they shared fifty-nine years. He was a member of Blake Baptist Church and attended Round Grove Baptist Church. Garold was engaged in full time farming, raising beef and dairy cattle. Garold enjoyed attending tractor pulls, working and being on the farm as well as spending time with family and friends. He was a lifelong area resident.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother Harold Chandler and brother Jack Chandler; sister; Louera Walker; and his grandson, Chandler Bowles.
Garold is survived by his wife Donna; daughter, Denise Bowles and husband Brent, of LaRussell, Missouri; and granddaughter Leah Bowles; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Chandler are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Round Grove Baptist Church in Miller, Missouri with Pastors Daren Bowles, Bob Holman and Mark Fugitt officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Round Grove Cemetery. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Tony Wright, Preston Wright, Russell Wright, Danny Chandler, Ron Chandler and Eric Michaels. The family has directed memorial contributions be made to Round Grove Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.
