Vanessa Marie Coon, 42, Lamar, MO passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at her home in Lamar following a brief illness. Vanessa was born March 20, 1977 in Nevada, MO to Louis “Wayne” and Elaine Marie (Cook) Schraml.
Vanessa grew up in Nevada, MO and attended school there. She graduated from Nevada High School Class of 1995 where she was an active member of the NHS Band. Vanessa worked in Dietary for Nevada Regional Medical Center, Oxford Healthcare in the Lamar and Jasper areas, Thorco Manufacturing in Lamar, and WalMart in Nevada for eight years until her retirement due to illness. She has resided in Lamar for the past 18 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, latch hook, and watching movies.
Survivors include two children, Alecia Jacobs and Caitlin Jacobs, both of the home in Lamar; parents, Wayne and Elaine Schraml, Harrisonville; one sister, Rebecca Burke and her fiancé Blake Wagner, Miller, MO; three nephews, Ethan, Caleb, and Keith; great-niece, Autumn; great-nephew, Landon; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Rob Hodson officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
