Wayne Severs

H. Wayne Severs was born March 22, 1939 in Neosho, Missouri, the son of Harold and Beulah (Williams) Severs. He entered into rest on May 29, 2019 in Joplin, Missouri, following an extended illness at the age of 80 years.

 He graduated from Neosho High School in 1957 and in 1960, he attended the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1961. Following graduation, he returned to Neosho and worked at Clark Funeral Home. He then moved to Overland Park, Kansas, where he worked for D.W. Newcomer and then returned to Neosho, working at Clark Funeral Home. He worked for Clarence Bowler for many years and he purchased a plumbing business from Claude Fuller and owned and operated Severs-Stroop Plumbing until his retirement in 2008. Wayne was a cradle member of the Neosho First Baptist Church. 










 He married Barbara (Hawes) on May 8, 1965 at the Neosho First Baptist Church and she survives of the home. Additional survivors include a daughter in law, Tammy Severs; one sisters, Doreen Treat of Durant, Oklahoma and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Becky in 1970 and a son, Gordon Severs in 2010.

A memorial service is being planned at the First Baptist Church, service date and time will be announced.
