Keith Wallace Estep, of Greenfield, MO, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019, at the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility in Lockwood, MO just one month shy of his 90th birthday.
He was born on June 17, 1929 in Miller, MO to Jack and Alma Estep. Keith graduated from Greenfield High School in 1948. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in December of 1951, and served during the Korean War for which he received a National Defense Service Medal. Keith left active duty, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for eight years.
He joined the United States Postal Service permanently in 1952 after working there in a temporary position. Keith retired in 1984 after 32 years of service. He devoted his life as a caretaker for his parents. Keith was an avid reader and bird watcher. He also enjoyed conversation with just about anyone who would engage him.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Hal Estep, Clyde Estep, and Raymond “Goober” Estep. He is survived by his nieces, Becky Moore and Sandy Divine; one nephew, Jack Estep; his sister-in-law, Bessie Estep; and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later date at Miller Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility or to Hospice Compassus.
