Robert L. McKee, age 73, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 1:12 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2017 at his home. Bob was born March 26, 1944 in Haden, Colorado to James and Arabelle McKee. He had lived in Joplin since 1984. Bob was employed with Cardinal Scale in Webb City for 20 years, retiring in 2006. Bob served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Joplin and was active in mowing the Church property. He was also a member of the D.A.V, and American Legion Post 13, where he was a member of the Military Honors Team.
Bob married Linda Nivens November 16, 1984 in Miami, Oklahoma and she survives. Additional survivors include a brother, Loren McKee and wife Jeannie, Kearney, Mo., a sister, Wilma Miller, Frankford, Mo., numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his four-legged kids, Cuddles, Ebony, and Baby. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Edna Jennings, and a brother, Donald Lee Smith.
Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Faith Baptist Church, 2424 E. 20th. St. with Rev. Bruce Allen officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Mortuary. Memorial contributions are requested to the Faith Baptist Church in care of the Mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
