Charles Phillips

(From Parker Mortuary)

Charles Eugene Phillips, Sr., age 66 of Joplin, got to finally meet his Savior, Jesus Christ following a sudden illness on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.

Charles was born on April 24, 1957 at Jane Chinn Hospital in Webb City to the late Rossie Phillips and Emma Herron Phillips.

After leaving school, Charles enlisted into the Army so he could proudly serve his country, short time later he enlisted in the Navy to continue that endeavor.

After service he would work as a handyman, taking care of all those odd-end jobs, mowing yards for those in need and later becoming a Cook at Freeman Health Systems before retiring due to health. However, none of those compared to his passion to serve the Lord as an Ordained Minister where he was very active with Joplin Full Gospel Church and serving in the nursing homes locally.

Charles married Ginger Boswell on May 22, 2010 at Big Spring Park in Neosho, Missouri. Ginger survives of the home with their two children, Victoria and Jacob.

Additional survivors include daughters, Melissa Schnieders and husband, Brandon of Baxter Springs, Kansas, Stephanie Severns and husband, Tyler of Wichita Falls, Texas; son, Charles E. Phillips, Jr.; brother, Bobby Phillips and wife, Theresa of Scammon, Kansas; sisters, Irene Phillips of Carl Junction, Evelyn Sue Phillips of Scammon; 5 grandchildren, Noah, Sophia, Asher, Amia and Ellie, with one expected to be born soon.
