Linda Gorman

Mrs. Linda Sue Gorman, 79, of Jane, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday evening, May 21, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas, after a recent decline in health.

Linda entered this life on August 31, 1943, in Bentonville, Arkansas, born to the late Francis and Hazel (Henson) McNelly. She was raised and attended school in Bentonville. 

On June 24, 1961, she was united in marriage to John Baker and to this union three children were born, Joni Sue, Mark and Nancy. She moved with her family to Jane, Missouri, in 1972. John passed away on September 21, 1979. 








On August 14, 1981, in Bentonville, she married William Henry “Hank” Gorman and together they shared forty years before his passing on September 23, 2021. Linda was a devoted homemaker throughout her life and a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Jane. She enjoyed visiting with her friends, attending church gatherings and was always lending a hand to those in need. She loved time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John Baker and Hank Gorman; a grandson, Austin Buttry; two sisters, Virginia Warren and Lometa Sandlin; and three brothers, Jerry, Larry and Irvin McNelly.






 

Linda is survived by her three children, Joni Sue Shelton and husband, Tony, of Bixby, Oklahoma, Mark Baker of Jane and Nancy Buttry and husband, Marvin, also of Jane; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four sisters, Joyce Bone, Lawanda Shockley and husband, Don, Pat Stanfield and Mary Dillow and husband, Calvin; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Calvin Dillow officiating. Private internment will take place at Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery in Bentonville, Arkansas. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website,www.ozarkfuneralhome.com.
