(From Ozark Funeral Home)James Gerald “Sarge” Davis, age 92 of Bentonville, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas, with his loving family by his side.
Sarge was born to the late, Van and Mae (Brown) Davis on December 28, 1930 in Grinnell, Iowa. He proudly served our country in the United States Army, retiring after 21 years. Sarge then became a teacher, teaching at the Carthage and McDonald County Schools. He was a member of the Pineville American Legion Post #392. Sarge enjoyed restoring antique cars and vacationing in San Destin, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
Sarge is survived by his wife, Rannie Davis of the home; four children, Dennis Lloyd Davis and wife, Trisha of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Jennifer Lynn McNamara and husband, Bill of La Russell, Missouri, Debra Kay Davis and husband, Steve of Joplin, Missouri, Christopher James Davis and wife, Hope of Decatur, Mississippi; a stepson, Clayton Paul Bounds of Bentonville, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren, three step grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss him.
Graveside funeral service for Sarge will be held on Monday on June 5, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Anderson Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri. Brother Brad Frieson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2023 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home.
