(From Clark Funeral Home)Kasiano Liwi, age 73, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away at 10:22 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born December 1, 1950, in Kolonia, Pohnpei to Luelen and Anna (Sarapio) Liwy. Kasiano was united in marriage to Plangka Saimon in 1970 in Kitti, (Sapwtakai) Pohnpei, and together have celebrated over 50 years of love and friendship.
Kasiano worked as a security guard for the College of Micronesia. He was also a fisherman and farmer, and well-known as a medicine man around the island.
He loved to help people and never expected anything in return. Kasiano was a firm believer that what you put out will always have a way of coming back to you. All he ever asked for was for us to be kind to one another and help those in need.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Plangka Saimon Liwy; ten children; Asano, Asaskey, Loreen, Annaleen, Berniece, Joyce, June, Liwy, Yahne and Nora; one brother, Ponpasio Liwy; forty-seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and many dear friends.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, with visitation from 2:00-3:00 p.m., prior to the service. Kasiano will return to his native land for burial.
