(From Clark Funeral Home)Willa Lakin left us on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, following a short illness at the age of 88.
Willa was born April 3, 1935, in Pineville, Missouri, the first child of Claude and Avo (Stephens) Poe. She was a homemaker, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family, her friends, and her church. She was a beautiful person who spread joy and happiness wherever she went. Willa was an avid bridge player and enjoyed attending plays, shows, and shopping.
On January 13, 1951, she married Bryan Lakin, and they shared 63 years before he preceded her in death on August 24, 2015.
Willa is survived by her daughter, Debbie Schwer, and husband, Bill; her son, Chris Lakin and wife, Diana; grandson, Andrew Lakin and wife, Sina; great-grandson, Lukas Lakin; sister, Wilma Jean Cupps-Porter and sister-in-law, Norma Lou Lakin.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two grandsons, Marc Fuller, and Micah Lakin.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 11 am at the Republic First Christian Church in Republic, Missouri. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 am until service time. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm at the Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery, south of Neosho, Missouri. Contributions in memory of Willa may be made to the Republic First Christian Church.
