(From Carson-Wall Funeral Home)Gordon L. Greninger, Sr., 88, of Parsons, passed away at 10:35 p.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at his home.
He was born on July 31, 1934 in Carthage, MO to Earl J. and Irene D. (Harp) Greninger. Gordon graduated from Joplin High School in 1952 and later served in the United States Navy.
Gordon worked as a sheet metal fabricator for Crane Sheet and Metal in Parsons and as building inspector in Las Vegas, NV. He started his working career at the age of 5 selling Joplin Globe newspapers on the corner and 7th and Main in Joplin.
He enjoyed buying and selling classic cars and trucks especially Volkswagens. Gordon loved Jesus was a member of Parsons Foursquare Church.
He and Georgia Begey were married on November 17, 1984. She survives of the home.
Survivors include three sons; Gordon Greninger Jr. of Joplin, Victor Vonganakasame (Loida) of Manila, Philippines and Paul Vonganakasame-Lim of Las Vegas, NV; daughter; Kim Vonganakasame (Kristopher Plowden) of Las Vegas Nevada; three grandchildren, Ashley Watson (James) of Joplin, Bowen Greninger, of Joplin and Amanda Vonganakasame-Lows (Danny) of Dallas, TX; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 8, 2023 at Wild Rose Cemetery in Webb City, MO. Burial will follow in the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home.
