MayBell Cook

MayBell Cook, age 91, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

MayBell entered this life on October 19, 1931, in Joplin, Missouri to the late Ed and Maud Cupp. She worked as a seamstress at a shirt factory for several years. MayBell enjoyed fishing, gardening, crocheting, and going to the flea markets and yard sales. She was a devoted and loving grandmother. Most importantly, she was a born - again Christian.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Frederick Cook; first husband, Harold Bullard; children, Harold Edward Bullard, Cherrie Michelle (Bullard) Ellis, and Lynn Cook; siblings, Ovella Kirkman, Dorothy Reynolds, Rosie Terry, Patsy Edwards, Joyce Melton, Cherry Ann Cupp, and Charles Edward Cupp.

MayBell is survived by her children, Rick Cook (Liza) of Springfield, Missouri, Sheryl Ferguson (Richard) of Alabama, Geri Moore (Eric) of Mississippi, Sandy Gettelfinger (Richard) of Indiana; siblings, Opal Cupp of Joplin, Mary Simonson (Kenneth) of Joplin, James Everett Cupp (Vera) of Joplin, Margrette Sturgis (Jay) of Joplin; over 50 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
