(From Ozark Funeral Home)Alice Stewart-Bowman, age 78, of Anderson, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Lamar, Missouri.
Alice was born to the late, Leonard and Effie (Layson) Edmisten on October 5, 1944 in Springfield, Missouri. She graduated from Cape Central High School in Cape Girardeau, Missouri in 1963.
Alice married Joseph Bowman on August 13, 1994 in Reno, Nevada. She was a loving caregiver to her parents, Leonard and Effie. Alice worked as the circulation manager at the McDonald County Press in Pineville, Missouri. She loved music and enjoyed playing the dulcimer and ukulele. Some of her favorite things were Dr. Pepper, wrestling, bowling, collecting clocks, gardening and was an excellent cook. She loved to visit Eureka Springs, Arkansas and Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Bowman; a son, Glen Mark Coberly; siblings, Francis J. Reed and Larry A. Edmisten.

Alice is survived by her children, Marty Stewart and wife, Denise of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Angela Stewart of Anderson, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Bryan, Ashley, Hunter, Fanci, Jaimee and Ryan; six great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss her.
Funeral service for Alice will be held on Wednesday on May 17, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service at the funeral home. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date in the Mayfield Cemetery in Goodman, Missouri.
