Harold Babbitt

Harold Eugene Babbitt, 77, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023, in Joplin, Missouri. Harold was born to the union of the late Bamford and Nita Babbitt. 

Nita sadly passed away when Harold was 6 months old. He was later raised by Bamford and his stepmother, Doris Babbitt.








After graduating high school, Harold enlisted into the Air Force, where he spent most of his time in Germany as a translator. He enjoyed speaking Russian, Spanish, Italian, and German, and reading Greek and Hebrew. Harold had a love for music and could play several instruments. He played the cello in the MSSU orchestra and sang in a barbershop quartet for many years. He was an active member of the Church of God (Seventh Day).

Harold married Sharon (Westfall) Babbitt on March 30, 1969. To this beautiful union, four children were born; David Babbitt (Jennifer) of Bates City, Missouri, Leah Stroupe (Macon) of Knob Noster, Missouri, Matthew Babbitt (Denise) of Union Star, Missouri, and Mary Miller (Glen) of Union Star, Missouri. Harold is also survived by eight grandchildren.








Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Dolores Wilcox (Jay).

Celebration of Life will be 3:00 p.m. May 20th at the Church of God (Seventh Day) in Kansas City, Missouri.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
