Ronald Houdyshell

Ronald Houdyshell, 72, passed away May 4, 2023, in Girard, Kansas. Ronald was born May 30, 1950, in Carthage, Missouri to David Daniel Houdyshell and Violet Irene (Schick) Houdyshell. 

He worked for Atlas Powder Company for over 35 years. Ronald had numerous positions over the years. He was a building lead and incinerator operator for General Dynamics. 

Ronald was an N.R.A. member. He loved painting, hunting, fishing, baseball, and his family. Ronald was an avid Cardinals baseball and M.U. basketball fan. He also enjoyed old gospel and country music.







Ronald was united in marriage to Angie Asher in August 1977 in Miami, Oklahoma; she preceded him in death January 8, 2013.

Ronald is survived by his six sons, Jim Morgan (Karrla), Tim Morgan (Natasha), Randy Morgan (Beth), David Houdyshell (Kristy), Joe Houdyshell (Debbie), and Ronny Houdyshell (Rhi); his mother, Violet Houdyshell; one sister, Patricia Lynn Starchman {Clifford (Pete)}; one brother, Timmy Ray Houdyshell (Becky); twenty-two grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren.

Ronald is preceded in death by his wife, Angie Houdyshell and his father, David Houdyshell.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2023, at Ulmer Funeral Home, Carthage, Missouri.








There will be a visitation prior to service from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Park Cemetery, Carthage, Missouri.

Contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, N.R.A., or Missouri Conservation in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
