Kenneth Probst

Kenneth Dean Probst was born on March 8, 1939, in Bingham Village, Illinois, one of six children to Herbert Victor and Eva Magdaline (Bracken) Probst. He entered into rest on February 6, 2024, at Carthage, Missouri at the age of 84. 

Kenneth graduated from Mansfield Community High School in Mansfield, Illinois and then studied engineering and business administration at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. 







In 1960, Kenneth and LaVerna Eck were united in marriage and to the union were two daughters, Anita, and Vonda. He designed grain bins and elevators for the feed meal industry. He obtained his private pilot's license, which opened the door to the work that he loved, aviation. He worked for various companies that required his expertise, both in the lower forty-eight states and Alaska. He obtained his A & P license, which presented more opportunities in the aviation industry. He retired in 2010 and purchased a shell home in Wasilla, Alaska and completed the construction and finish work of the home. 

In July of 2021, he returned to Grove, Oklahoma from Alaska. Following the death of his wife, Judi, he moved to SW Missouri to be closer to his daughters. Kenneth maintained an avid interest in Aviation after retirement and enjoyed sharing stories as past experiences. After the death of his Mother, he became the family historian. Kenneth was a member of the Church of God. 

Survivors include two daughters, Anita Charlene Adams and husband, Dan of Carthage, Missouri and Vonda Marlene Cole and husband, Clifford of Seneca, Missouri; grandchildren, Trenton Adams and wife, Irene, Darren Adams and wife, Katelyn, Rodney Adams and wife, Jessica, Andrew Adams and wife, Jamie, Ranelle Moles and husband, Marvin, Alyssa Clevenger and husband, Marty, and MaraLeah Beverage and husband, Tyrel; eighteen great grandchildren and two brothers, Dale Probst and wife, Linda of Edmond, Oklahoma and Marvin Probst and wife, Colleen of Sands Springs, Oklahoma. 








He is preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Darla Adams, his parents, two brothers, Don Probst and Maurice Probst and a sister, Janice.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, at 10 am at the Church of God, 18762 Linden Drive, Neosho, and Brother Don Elwell and Brother Michael Smith will officiate. Interment will be in the Gibson Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. Contributions in memory of Kenneth may be made to Monark Campground or African Mission and Beyond
