Charlie Hudson

C.W. (Charlie) Hudson, 93, of Asbury Missouri, passed away on February 14, 2024. He was born on May 9, 1930, in Hoburg, Missouri. Charlie, as he was known to many, lived a vibrant and fulfilling life.

Charlie was a man of many talents and interests. He was a hardworking, funny and religious individual. In his youth, he was mischievous but turned his life around after serving in the Army. Charlie spent most of his life self-employed in roofing and painting, worked at Boeing in Wichita, Kansas and was also a truck driver. He was Pentecostal minister and evangelist for many years spreading his faith and love for the Lord.








Aside from his professional life, Charlie enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his beloved dogs, Popcorn and Bubba. He was a family man who cherished moments with his loved ones, friends and church community.

Charlie is survived by his daughters, Angela Renee Martinez and Charlene Reed, as well and his grandchildren, Michael Alexander Martinez and Gabriela Nicole Martinez. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Hudson, and brother, Glen Hudson. Charlie was preceded in death by his mother Thelma Mullins-Hudson father Jess G. Hudson, brother Jess G. Hudson Jr., sister Virginia Sampson (Hudson), and half-brother Leo Hudson.

Charlie proudly served in the Army as a Private from 1948 to 1950. His dedication to his country and faith was unwavering throughout his life. He was a general contractor and a man of many talents who built his home in Waco, Missouri, with his own hands.








A memorial service to celebrate Charlie’s life will be held at Mason-Woodard Mortuary, 3701 E. 7th Street, Joplin, Missouri, on Thursday, February 22, 2024. The visitation will begin at 1 PM with service following at 2 PM. The graveside service will take place in Oronogo, Missouri, at Weaver Cemetery.

Charlie’s legacy of hard work, faith, and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
