Sandy Bebee

Sandra Sue "Sandy" Bebee, 82, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, February 15, 2024, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri, following a recent decline in health. 

Born on July 30, 1941, in Joplin, Missouri, to Alberta Lanta and Mildred Mary (Smith) Oxford, Sandy lived a full and vibrant life, marked by her love for her family and her spirited personality.








Sandy's formative years were spent in Joplin. Her journey took her alongside James Mitchell, with whom she shared 28 years of marriage and raised five children. After James's honorable discharge from the US Air Force, they returned to their roots in Joplin, where Sandy embraced her role as a devoted homemaker. Her later years were spent with her beloved husband, Jessee Bebee, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her five children, Danny Mitchell of Fall River, Kansas, Darrell Mitchell and his wife, Lisa, of Ocala, Florida, Teresa McConnell of Fall River, Kansas, Lisa Miller of Joplin, Missouri, and Julie Beck of Ocala, Florida. Her lineage includes fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Sandy also leaves behind two siblings, Mike Oxford and Sharon Thomas, both of Joplin, Missouri, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jessee, three grandchildren, and twelve siblings.








Tughout her life, Sandy was known for her strong will and competitive spirit, which shone brightly whether she was playing cards or enjoying a game of bingo. Her indomitable spirit and the cherished memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri, with Pastor Len Clevenger officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
