Cletus Sampson

(From Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home)

Cletus Charles Sampson, 72, Seneca, MO, passed away February 10, 2024 at his home after an illness.

Cletus Charles Sampson was born June 23, 1951 in Truth or Consequences, NM the son of Wilbur and Myrtle (Griffith) Sampson.

Cletus was a gentle and caring soul, who helped anyone in need. Many called him dad, papa, friend, uncle, cousin and brother.

Who raised grandkids on the gravel road. Who built houses with his strong and rough hands, the same hands that held fragile newborns. Who gave everything to the people he loved and gave what was left to those in need. Who did his best for all of us. From this chilly and windy day, at the end of winter, God decided to bring home a special soul.

Cletus formerly worked construction in the dry wall business and the roofing business. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially spending time with his family. Cletus loved going to the local coffee shop to meet with the other great thinkers to solve the worlds problems. He took great pride in telling jokes and making people laugh. He was of the Apostolic Faith.

Survivors include three children; Steven Sampson and wife Tia, Carterville, MO, Rebecca Sampson Gonzalez and husband Leo, Seneca and Michael Sampson and wife Ashley, Seneca, MO; siblings, Nathaniel Sampson, Racine, MO, Marvin Sampson and wife Linda, Dyersburge, TN, Obed Sampson and wife Terry, Racine, MO, Ruth Divine, Southwest City, Mo, Esther Nesbit, McComb, MS and Johnna Baker, Seneca, MO; 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
