(From Bland-Brumback Funeral Home)Jerry Wayne Coleman, 74, passed away suddenly, but peacefully at his home in Stockton, MO on February 27, 2024. He was born March 4, 1949 in Stockton to the late Rose and Helen (Taylor) Coleman.
Jerry grew up in Stockton, Mo where he also graduated from high school. He then went on to serve his country from May 11, 1969 to March 3, 1971 in the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. After his time in the Army, he returned to Stockton where he was a homebuilder by trade, raised his family, and lived the rest of his life.
Jerry loved fishing with his family and friends. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch ready to visit with anyone that stopped by. He also enjoyed taking care of his cattle and always claimed that’s what kept him young. He was an honest, fair, and hardworking man who raised his family on those principles.
He is survived by his partner, Julie Newman; Children: Carrie Hudson, Steamboat Springs, CO, Bridget (Jeremy) Plunkett, Carl Junction, MO, and Jamie (Jessica) Coffey, Statesboro, GA; Grandchildren: Alex Reed, Justin Hudson, Hannah Hudson, Lydia Salzer, Nick Salzer, Rachel Plunkett, Dakota Baker, Kyle Coffey, Calla Coffey, Cassidy Coffey, Elijah Coffey, Mallory Coffey, Noah Coffey, Emory Coffey, Corban Coffey, Jowan Coffey, Loraine Middleton, and a Great Granddaughter, Hazel Baker; Brothers, Donnie (Jackie) Coleman and Orville (Carol) Coleman.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jeanette Coleman, daughter Ashley Baker, and grandson Logan Baker.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Logan Baker Memorial Scholarship fund at Simmons Bank in Stockton.
Graveside service is planned for March 08, 2024 at 11:00am at Lindley Prairie Cemetery, 21950 County Road 1650, Stockton, MO 65785
