(From Parker Mortuary)Don Alan Hicks, age 86, of Joplin, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024, in Joplin surrounded by the love of his wife and children.
Don, son of the late Robert and Ruby (Ellington) Hicks, was born on August 22, 1937, in Paducah, KY.
During his days in college, he met the love of his life, Donna Kuykendall. They were united in marriage on February 22, 1958, in Corinth, MS.
Together they moved to Joplin in 1964 and became the owners of Don Hicks Hearing Aid Service. Don retired after 60 years of serving the Joplin community. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Kentucky Wildcats Basketball fan, but his greatest joy was his family.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Hicks, of Joplin; children, Yogi Hicks and Divina Hicks, of Joplin, and Dawn Hicks Vaughn (Jim) of Naples, FL; three grandchildren, Alisha Hicks, Eric Hicks, and Devin McBee; nine great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by one brother.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
