(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)Retha Mae Swatosh, 68, of Sarcoxie, Missouri passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024, in the comfort of her own home.
Retha was born on December 29, 1955, in Joplin, Missouri to the union of the late Oscar and Venita (Royster) Lee.
Retha was a devoted stay-at-home mom, a role she cherished and took great pride in her children, Crystal Masters of Jasper, Missouri, Evan Masters of Sarcoxie, Missouri, Eric Masters, of Carthage, Missouri, and Eldon Masters, Jr. also of Carthage, Missouri. She was blessed with a large and loving family, including seventeen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren and several siblings.
Retha had an adventurous spirit and a great love for animals, which led her to own several exotic animals throughout her life. She found immense joy in the natural world, often taking her grandchildren on nature walks, instilling in them a sense of wonder and respect for the environment. Her hobbies also included crocheting.
Graveside services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Reeds Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Evan Masters, Eric Masters, Eldon Masters, Ryan Garrison, Derek Master and Nicholas Montes.
