Mary Woodruff

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Mary Lorene Woodruff, born in a home birth in Stark City, Missouri, on May 3, 1942, peacefully departed from this world on February 25, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the youngest of six children born to Martha Mae Wagoner and John Cecil Becknell.

Mary's life was marked by love, family, and cherished memories. Though preceded in death by her daughter Brenda Ray in 1962 and her son Edward Ray Lankford in 1981, her spirit lives on through her surviving children: son Kenneth Ray Lankford, daughter Sandra Ray Blackburn, and John Michael Woodruff.

Mary was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend, whose kindness and warmth touched the lives of all who knew her. Mary's legacy extends beyond her immediate family, as she leaves behind a lasting impact on her 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren by blood, as well as countless others by marriage, whom she adored and loved dearly.

Known for her love of puzzles, sewing, crocheting booties, and cooking for everyone, Mary found joy in the simple pleasures of life and took pride in caring for those around her. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the aroma of delicious meals prepared with love.

As the last of her family to return home, Mary's spirit now rests in the comforting embrace of the Lord's kingdom. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of Mary's life and a final farewell will take place as she is laid to rest in the family cemetery at Dice in Fairview, Missouri, at a later date to be announced.
