Ella Seigel

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Celia Ella Seigel, beloved wife, mother, and grandma, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in her home on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, after eighteen months of illness. She was surrounded by her loving husband Jerry and family.

Ella was born December 27, 1938, to Clement Roy Boomershine and Pauline (Barton) Boomershine in Wauneta, Kansas. She attended Tyro Grade School and Wayside High School in Kansas.

Ella was united in marriage to Kenneth (Jerry) Seigel on October 25, 1955, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. To this union were born four children: Sherri Seigel, Neosho, Missouri; Carla (Pat) McKinney, Granby, Missouri; Kenneth II (Kim) Seigel, Neosho; and Melissa (Chris) Myers, Seneca, Missouri.

She graduated from Neosho Beauty College in 1973 and owned and operated Ella's Beauty Shop for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Neosho. In prior years, she humbly and selflessly supported Jerry in his pastoral ministries.

The same support and commitment was shown with love and compassion to her children, thirteen grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren and was generously extended to numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Ella enjoyed attending the various activities of her grandchildren, supporting them in all their endeavors. She enjoyed family get-togethers and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed gospel music, especially Elvis Presley's gospel songs, and listening to her daughter, Carla, sing. She enjoyed flowers and working in her yard when she was able and watching the birds that visited her window during the time she was homebound. She was a talented seamstress, making quilts for her grandchildren and teaching her daughters and granddaughters to sew. She loved to crochet, making many afghans for her family. She had a talent for making ceramics. Ella also loved genealogy and enjoyed learning and sharing her family history.

Ella is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Ray Boomershine; one sister, Bonnie Cavaletto; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Leon Boomershine; and two sisters, Betty Pitts and Sylvia Seigel; and one great-grandchild. Ella's desire was that all her family would come to know the Lord as their personal Savior and would all be together in Heaven one day.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Ella's life will be held at 1:00 pm on March 22, 2024, at Neosho IOOF Cemetery. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place from 5:30 to 7 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho. The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to Gentiva Hospice for the exceptional and loving care given to Ella.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Gentiva Hospice, 211 S. Wood St. Neosho, MO 64850.
