(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Joyce Lee Babst, 83 of Joplin Missouri passed away on Sunday March 24th, 2024. She was born in Joplin Missouri on November 23rd, 1940, to James and Ozella Bard.
Joy was previously employed by Commerce Bank in the 1970’s where she met the love of her life Robert H. Babst. They were married on October 18th, 1975, in Joplin Missouri, where they lived and raised their three children: Ronda Sloan of Golden Missouri, Deborah Carey of Neosho Missouri, and Robert A. Babst of Navarre Florida.
Joy was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother supporting her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family on their farm riding the gator, planting flowers and celebrating their annual pumpkin picking.
Joy was an active member of the Original Apostolic Faith Church of Joplin Missouri where she taught Sunday School and played the organ and piano.
She is survived by her husband Bob Babst, children Ronda Sloan, Deborah Carey and Robert A. Babst & wife Jana Babst, grandchildren Matthew and Wyatt Sloan, Trevor, Danielle and Carissa Carey, Giuliana and Harper Babst, sister Caorl Dewees, brother James Bard, and sister Janet Stemm.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 27th 5:00 – 7:00pm at Mason-Woodard Chapel in Joplin, Missouri. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 28th 2:00pm at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri.
