Wanda Edmondson

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Wanda Lee Edmondson, age 98, passed from this life into the Lord’s arms on March 22, 2024. She was born to Henry Lee and Nancy Almeda (Cron) Lankford on March 11, 1926, in Seneca, Missouri. After graduating from Seneca High School she worked on the Camp Crowder Military Base. Later, she worked for the Seneca News Dispatch and Newman’s before retiring as manager of the Somethin’ to Wear dress shop in Seneca.

Wanda was united in marriage to Nolan Edmondson on May 31, 1947. They shared a lifetime of love and happiness together for 77+ years until his recent passing on February 6, 2024. Together they were faithful Christian servants within the Seneca Church of Christ family.

Wanda loved to travel in their RV and see God’s handiwork throughout the states. She enjoyed various hobbies and clubs but was most happy just being around family and friends anywhere they gathered. Wanda had a loving sense of humor earmarked by her contagious smile and giggle. She continually modeled contentment, strength, and compassion as a gift to those around her.

She is survived by her daughter Jan Cox and husband Jerold of Seneca, her grandchildren Brian Cox of Springfield, and Amanda (Cox) Moehsmer and husband Jesse of Joplin. Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and six siblings Earl, Dutch, Gerald, Charles, Marjorie, and Etta Mae.

The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the Oak Pointe staff in Neosho for the care they provided to both Nolan and Wanda over the last 7½ years.

Wanda will be dearly missed by all who knew her but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life. She was truly a beautiful soul.

A memorial service for Wanda will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the Seneca Church of Christ Church. Jake King will officiate.
