(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Toni Rae Sager (Kersey), age 84, of Seneca, passed away March 27th, 2024 surrounded by her family and loved ones.
She was born on May 8th, 1939 in Wallace, Idaho to her loving parents Alfred "Punch" Walter Kersey and Yada Earline Faye Kersey (Fulcher).
Toni grew up in the Carl Junction area and graduated from Carl Junction High School in 1957. She went on to graduate from Franklin Tech as an LPN and went on to work for Dr. John Burch and Dr. Joseph Gardner for over 30 years. After retirement from the medical profession, she went on to work as a loan processor for Action Mortgage for several years.
She married the love of her life, Hugh Sager, on January 28th, 1959 in Miami, Oklahoma.
Toni is survived by her sister Karla Kersey-Paxson; three daughters, Judi Kent of Joplin, Jani Davis (John) of Neosho, and Jodi Lansaw of Neosho; eight grandchildren, Jeren Kent (Jihyun), Joy Arnall (Adam), Jordan Davis, Justin Fletcher, Jed Fletcher, Jensen Lansaw, Jara White (Scott), Kilie McGown (Dale); seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Hugh, and her daughter Beth Sager-Shouse.
Services will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, April 1st 2024 at Mason-Woodard, 3701 E 7th, Joplin with burial to follow at Mound Cemetery. Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers at the cemetery.
