(From Ozark Funeral Home)
Mr. Rex Darrell Russell, 78 of Jane, Missouri departed this life on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Mercy
Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas after a short illness.
He married the love of his life, Vera Mills on June 7th, 1965, and they had two beautiful daughters and one incredibly handsome and masculine son. They lived in Anderson, Missouri until moving back to Jane, Missouri in 1990. He was a member of the Anderson Masonic Lodge and a past Worshipful Master. He was also a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Gravette, Arkansas.
Rex worked many years in construction before being injured and becoming disabled. Rex enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, swimming and hot tubing with his grandchildren, a good cold beer, especially a free one, Mexican food, seafood, and a good ribeye steak, all of which he would drown in Pace Picante Sauce. His true passion was hunting, and he enjoyed hunting everything from butterflies and lighting bugs to Moose.
He was usually very successful in his pursuits, but his greatest success was sharing and passing this passion on to his family and friends. His favorite hunts where the pheasant hunts in Kansas and teaching his grandkids to drive and block at the end of the fields. He loved his grandchildren fiercely and pretty much let them do whatever they wanted, including racing lawnmowers around his yard at a very young age.
Rex is survived by his son Rex Russell II and wife Becky, of Lowell, AR. His daughter Robin Baker and husband Brent, of Rogers, AR. His grandchildren, James Ratcliff, Ian Baker, Rachel Ratcliff, Erin Trimmell and husband Dalton, Jordan Russell, Ryan Russell, and Anna Baker. Nephews David Parker and wife Doreen, Tommy Parker and wife Tricia, Mike James Russell, Johnny Guy Russell and wife Cherry, Rocky Russell, Stoney Russell. Nieces Jerri Sue Showalter and husband Randy, Sharon Jean Russell, and Charlotte Bergman and husband Billy, as well as a host of other family and friends.
