Bettie Taylor

Services for Bettie Taylor, 91 of Hollister, will be Friday, March 22, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson. Burial will follow in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.

Bettie Lee Patty Dunoven was born on February 25, 1933 in Stark City, Missouri. Her life was marked by her dedication to her family, her passions and her unwavering faith.








She attended and graduated from a rural school around Neosho, Missouri. On March 15, 1955, Bettie married Virgil Taylor. Together, they raised their daughters, Barbee and Virginia and operated a successful skating rink in downtown Branson.

Bettie was an enthusiastic outdoorswoman who found joy in the beauty and adventure of nature. She enjoyed cooking and her love for cooking was renowned. Bettie had a heart for canine companions which showed in the dogs she adopted and adored. She was also a passionate St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Bettie and her late husband, Virgil, shared not only their love for each other but also a deep-rooted devotion to their Christian faith. Together, they were pillars in their church's community, especially drawn to the intimacy of smaller congregations.

Bettie passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024, in Springfield, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loren & Margie (Stroud) Dunoven; her husband Virgil Taylor; and son-in-law, Gary O’Shay.








Bettie was blessed with a loving family, including her daughters, Barbee Robertson of Branson and Virginia O’Shay of Blue Springs, MO; her seven grandchildren, Vickie Justesen, Don Fausett, Audrey Garrison, Preston Robertson, Thayne Robertson, Kevin O’Shay and Jason Nolan; and nine great-grandchildren, Taylor O’Shay, Ava O’Shay, Devin Fausett, Oliver Fausett, Isaac Nolan, Kimber Robertson, Ezra Robertson, Malachi Garrison and Elijah Garrison. They, along with the rest of those she loved, will miss her deeply yet take comfort in the knowledge that she lived a full and vibrant life, graced by her cherished values and faith.
