Pearl Sawyer

Pearl Sawyer, age 93, longtime resident of the Jay area, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024.
She was born on January 31, 1931, to Thomas and Rettie (Ballou) Lancaster in Robison, AR. As a child, the family moved to Eucha, OK and she attended Eucha School.

Pearl was a unique woman of many talents and occupations, including a truck driver, bartender, and owner of a flea market.








She was always unapologetically herself and known for her sassy personality and German temper, but also for her sense of humor, orneriness, and love for life.

In her free time, Pearl enjoyed fishing, RV camping, crocheting, collecting antiques, and spending time with her beloved dogs. She was a true animal lover and had a special bond with her furry companions.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Hallie Haggard, William "Bud" Lancaster and Burl Lancaster, sister, Jeri Myers, son, Robert Hutchison and stepson, Benny Hicks.

Left to cherish her memory: sons, Gene Hutchison (Yolanda) of Southwest City, Mo, Joe Hutchison (Sallie) of Jay, OK, John Hutchison (Marie) of Miami, OK and Bill Hutchison (Crystal) of Jay, OK; brother Carl “Cotton” Lancaster (Wanda) of Eucha, OK.; 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.







Funeral services for Pearl will be at 10am Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Jay First Assembly of God with burial to follow at New Eucha Cemetery.
